Epoxy-based adhesives are commonly used in structural bonding of similar and dissimilar substrates, due to their high adhesion, formulation versatility, and long-term durability. One-component (1K) systems are gaining recognition over two-component (2K) systems for some applications because of their ease of use, reduced mixing ratio and induction time.
However, the brittle nature of epoxy resins limits their applications for certain structural applications.
