Granite Paint (rought surface)

Maydos granite texture paint

Granite Paint (rought surface)

Construction Guide

Step 1: Base Treatment Procedure

Since the condition of the base surface is directly related to the construction quality of Granite Paint, the base surface must be carefully inspected and accepted before decoration.

The specific requirements are now introduced as follows:

1) New walls that have just been built need to be fully maintained and dried; for old walls that have been peeled off due to moisture, they need to be re-primed.

After several layers of spraying, a series of spraying constructions of  Maydos Granite Paint can be carried out.

2) The base surface should be smooth and clean, without oil, floating dust or other pollutants.

3) For the original old paint on the old wall or other base surface, the adhesion should be confirmed through tests; if the adhesion is poor, it must be completely eradicated.

Step 2: Scrape and level the putty and polish it smooth.

(1) The putty should be applied with a trowel, scraper or steel batch, and scraped from top to bottom. Do not apply the putty too thickly each time, otherwise it will easily cause cracks, peeling and other defects. Usually the thickness of exterior wall putty is about 0.5~1.0mm.

(2) Putty is usually applied twice, and the interval between the two putties cannot be too short. The first putty must be dried before the second putty is applied.

(3) When scraping putty, do not scrape it back and forth too much to avoid curling, falling off or squeezing out the rubber in the putty, sealing the surface and making it difficult to dry.

(4) When scraping putty, pay attention to the technique, press the blade tightly with your index finger, and press the putty into the defect with force, fill it thoroughly, and scrape away the surrounding putty to minimize the traces of putty.

(5) After the putty is completely dry (usually 6 hours on a sunny day), polish it smooth with the corresponding sandpaper and clean away the dust.

Step 3: Apply Granite Paint primer

Before spraying, clean the dust on the wall first, spray a layer of primer evenly on the base surface, and perform back-sealing treatment to avoid color bleeding and moisture penetration on the base surface, which will contaminate and swell the main material of the multi-colored paint and affect the construction quality.

When applying water-based sealing primer, it is generally better to use roller coating. The drying time of water-based sealing primer is about 4 hours.

Step 4: Divide the grooves into grids

1. Level the wall according to the design requirements, measure the size, use an ink cartridge to stretch the line, determine the position, and stick textured paper for protection.

Step 5: Spray matching midcoat

When constructing the matching solid-color mid-coat, use a special spray gun or roller coating. You must wait for the first coat to dry before applying the second coat. Because the color of the solid-color paint has a great influence on the final effect, it must be ensured that the spray color is consistent, and no leakage (rolling) or thin spraying (rolling) is allowed.

Step 6: Spray the main material of Granite Paint

After checking that the matching solid color medium paint is even and dry, use a special spray gun to spray the main material. Select the gun muzzle (2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm) based on the size of the particles, select the gun nozzle caliber, and air compressor The air pressure should reach more than 6kg, and the pressure of the pressure cylinder should be adjusted to the appropriate level and maintain a stable oil output. Depending on the pattern of the sample, use oblique spraying or direct spraying. From a distance of 40cm-70cm, move the gun back and forth crosswise at a uniform speed to ensure even and full spraying. If the pattern density is relatively high, it is recommended not to spray it in one go. You can spray it in two times. If the pattern is densely sprayed in one time, it is easy to sag and bubble the colored dots.

Step 7: Overcoat

The topcoat can be sprayed only after the main material layer is completely dry (it usually dries within 24 hours on sunny days). The air compressor pressure is required to be above 6kg. The muzzle of the spray gun is perpendicular to the wall at a distance of 30cm-50cm. Spray it evenly back and forth on the surface. Paint is usually sprayed once. Spray an even layer without missing a layer. At this point, all construction procedures for colorful water-packed sand are completed.
