Water-based Wood Varnish Primer

The basic unprocessed lacquer is called ki-urushi and it comes in two grades, standard ki-urushi which is used for ground layers, and kijomi-urushi which is the highest quality and is used for final finishing layers.
CAB-acrylic lacquer dries to a less brittle and more flexible film, but it has different working properties to nitrocellulose lacquer. It is best applied with a spray gun, and should be thinned to a viscosity suitable for your spray equipment and the conditions you are working in.
